DIY and Beyond

Updated: Oct 25, 2023

Welcome to my little part of the world!

My Name is Jaycee, I fell into crafting as a kid, from a long line of artists and a family who loved working with their hands, it was just built into my soul. I loved going to Michaels with my grandparents and buying the fun new craft, hook-rugs, plastic lanyard strings, paints of all kinds, jewelry making, etc. As I got older my crafting went to the wayside as sports and school became more prominent in my life.

As I finished up school and went into the corporate lifestyle, making money was the only thing on my mind, griding all day in the hopes of the next promotion. My story is like so many before me... Never slowing down and chasing some dream I was told to chase. Then COVID hit, luckily I got to keep my job and was just sent to work from home.

Taking that time to breathe, I started spending my free time crafting again. My Husband and I were planning a wedding in October of 2020 so my life revolved around all the DIY wedding planning, but it re-sparked that flame that had gone out for so many years. I had planned on going completely DIY for my Wedding and this time allowed me to do that.

I started all of it, Candle making Macrame plant hangers, wood working, flower arrangements, customized bar tables, Repurposing pallets for decor and baking all the cookies for our “cookie bar”. I was the happiest I had been in a long time even while dealing with a pandemic in the world. Being able to just work with my hands and watching my ideas come to life was truly wonderful.

I am also a huge nerd, Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Harry Potter and anything else you can think of, so when I have something in my head I usually try to make it myself because it is hard to find some thing personalized as a huge nerd. So that was a huge catalyst in my DIY journey and one I love that I have been able to dive into.

Why Now?

I have suffered from anxiety all my life, working with my hands helps me manage it. So I keep crafting and my house is starting to over flow with my own creations. I would love to share it with the world around me. Why not now? I am a brand new mom of a beautiful 7 month old little girl, I would love to spend more time with her and eventually leave my corporate job to do so. I have two wonderful little wolves that I absolutely adore and if you ask them, they don't get walked as much as they want.

Thank you for taking the time to read this blog and watch this journey we are on. I cant wait to show you what we have in store for you.

With Love,

Jaycee and her little Wolves
